Close to the Swedish sea Marina does her research at Tjärnö marine biology station on environmental DNA. Her studies lead to biodiversity monitoring without invasive methods such as catching fish. She takes samples from the water at different spots analyzing the complete set of DNA present to determine organisms living or passing by a certain area. This future-leading method is constantly further developed to reduce invasive actions by humans to a minimum for describing marine ecosystems.
